Dorothy Bernice Banks' Obituary
Dorothy Bernice Banks, 70, of Culpeper died Sunday, November 2, 2008 at her residence. She was born July 29, 1938 in Culpeper to the late Edward Taylor and Careen Williams Jameson.
Mrs. Banks was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church where she was a member of the Adult Choir and also a past president of the Kitchen Committee. She enjoyed baking, playing Bingo, singing, traveling with her husband and being with her family which was very important to her.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Cecil Banks, her daughter, Elisha DeNeal and her husband, Shawn of Woodbridge, her son, Cecil Glenn Banks and his fiancé, Denise Strother of Culpeper, three grandsons, Brandon Harrison of Washington, D.C., Jordan Banks of Culpeper and Aaron Banks of Culpeper, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Budd and George Jameson.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Culpeper Baptist Church with Rev. Nathaniel Butler officiating.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery (New).
Pallbearers will be Maurice Jameson, Michael Humes, Eugene Hearns, Tom Brill, Michael Dennis and Calvin Clark, Jr.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Banks’ name to Hospice of the Rapidan, P.O. Box 1715, Culpeper, VA 22701.
