Dorothy Alice Lightkep Haring's Obituary
Dorothy Alice Lightkep Haring, 87, of Culpeper, passed away Friday March 16, 2007, at the Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born October 8, 1919 in Norristown, Pa. to the late Harry and Cora Lightkep.
She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-six years, James Jarrett Haring also of Culpeper Two children, J. David and his wife Jo of Reston, Va. and Nancy Haring Gonzalez and her husband Albert of Culpeper, five grandchildren; Brandt Haring and his wife Barbara, of Arlington, Va., Gabrielle Swieton and her husband Philip of South Lyon, Michigan, Ryan Gonzalez and his wife Amy of Culpeper, Va., Jarrett Haring of Reston, Va. and Michael Haring of Reston, Va., three great-grand children; Holly Frazier, Lauren Frazier and Alayna Gonzalez.
Also surviving is one sister Ruth Bobb and her husband, Ernest of Royersford, Pa. and her extended family and friends, Walter Haring, Mildred Marx and her companion Jack Perry, George Haring and his wife Claire and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one brother Alan Lightkep.
After raising her family and tending to her homestead, Dorothy and her husband retired and moved to St. Augustine, Florida, where they spent twenty-one years enjoying their lives. They traveled extensively through the United States, Europe and the Caribbean, until finally moving to Culpeper, Va., to be near to their family. She was dearly loved by her family and friends.
Her family will hold a private memorial service at a later date and inurnment will ultimately follow at the Culpeper National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to the Culpeper Regional Hospital, 501 Sunset Lane, Culpeper, Va. 22701.
