Dorothy Scroggins Flowers' Obituary
Dorothy Senora Scroggins was born June 20, 1953, in Stafford County, VA. She entered eternal rest on September 4, 2021 in Fredericksburg.
Dorothy completed her education through the Stafford County Public School system. She retired from Giant Food stores after 23 years on April 24, 1999, and later worked for the ABC store as an assistant manager.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Mudre Flowers (whom she married July 14, 1984) and her parents, John Henry and Edna Atlee Scroggins; two brothers, Theodore N. Culley and William H. Culley; and a sister, Rita C. Pleasant.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory a son, Michael J. Scroggins and daughter-in-law, Andrea Scroggins, two grandchildren, Jay Michael and Kelsey Nicole Scroggins; a great-granddaughter, Neveah Scroggins; her god-daughter Trina Hubbard; three sisters, Marjorie King (Donald), of Richmond, Deborah Scroggins (Edward), of Spotsylvania, and Laura Scroggins, of Fredericksburg; a brother-in-law, Bobby Pleasant, of Forestville, MD; a sister-in-law, Mabel Culley of Alexandria, two aunts, Nancy Prince and Ludie Prince; two uncles, Winston Prince and Isaiah Culley; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends, including very close friends Toni Poole and Earnestine Garnette and a very special devoted friend, Betye Freeman.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior.
