Dorothy Paytes Dickinson's Obituary
Dorothy Paytes Dickinson, 93, of Manassas went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 11, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
Dorothy was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved her family deeply and they were always the most important part of her life. Dorothy enjoyed cooking and entertaining, especially for family gatherings. She was a woman of great faith and enjoyed her connection with the church and our Lord.
Dorothy leaves behind her son, D. Dale Dickinson (Phyllis) of Fredericksburg; two grandchildren, Robert Carl “Robbie” Dickinson (Mandy) of Stafford County, and Sherrie Williams of Spotsylvania County; four great-grandchildren, Jessica, Taylor, John Dale “JD”, and Amy; as well as one great-great-grandchild, Rosalie. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Curtis Dickinson (Nancy) of Mechanicsville; her daughter-in-law, Janice Dickinson of Spotsylvania; a very special nephew, “Jiggs” who stayed at her bedside during her passing; other nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Carl Bradshaw Dickinson; and her son, Carl M. Dickinson.
Dorothy’s family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. The funeral service to celebrate her life will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Hartwood Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robbie, JD, John, Larry, Jiggs, Mike, Billy, and Albert.
