Dorothy C. "Dottie" Hooff's Obituary
Dorothy C. “Dottie” Hooff, 88, of Culpeper died Sunday, October 28, 2018 at The Culpeper. She was born October 31, 1929 in New York City, NY, to the late Frank and Suzanne Ackerman Cole.
Mrs. Hooff was a member of Alexandria Twig, Rappahannock Garden Club and the Needlepoint Guild. She was also treasurer for Trinity Episcopal Church Women.
She is survived by one son, Robert A. Marshall and his wife, Carol of Reston; four stepchildren, John C.H. Hooff, Jr. and his wife, Lynn of Alexandria, Eugene P. Hooff, Sr. and his wife, Nancy of Atlanta, GA, Carlyle F. Hooff and her partner, Doris Lauckler of Lewes, DE, and Evelyn H. Crickenburger of Clifton, VA; one sister, Marcia Doelman of Great Barrington, MA; niece, Susan Eisenber of Toronto, Canada; and nephews, John Doelman of Vero Beach, FL, and David Doelman of Lake Park, FL.
Additional survivors include two grandchildren, Amy E. Peacock and her husband, Shane of Burke, VA, and Thomas Marshall of Farmville, VA; and step grandchildren, John C.H. Hooff, III and his wife, Mclean, Louise H. Clarkson and her husband, John, Alexander R. Hooff and his wife, Amy, Eugene P. Hooff, Jr. and his wife, Megan, Robert E. Hooff and his wife, Lia, Campbell Crickenberger, and William Crickenberger and his wife, Kirsten.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John C.H. Hooff; and one son, John Marshall, Jr.
The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Stephens Church, 115 N. East St., Culpeper, VA with Rev. Benson Shelton officiating.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 115 N. East St., Culpeper, VA 22701.
