Doris Marie Rankin's Obituary
Owner of D'Maries Antiques, Doris M. Rankin, died the morning of March 4, 2018. She and her husband, James Rankin, opened D'Maries Antiques in Thornburg in 1977. They ran the business as partners until Jim's death in 1991. Since then, she ran D'Maries as sole proprietor.
Doris was just seven months short of her 90th birthday. She is survived by four of her five children, Jerry Rankin (Georgia), Barb Gatewood (Spotsylvania), Linda Enderle (Ohio), and Norma Middleton (Florida); daughter-in-law, Shirley Fogle (California); 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and most importantly, Sadie, her rescued hound dog.
Doris’ family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2018 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Travelers Rest Baptist Church, 6823 Partlow Road, Spotsylvania. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
