Doris Rae Domazet's Obituary
Doris Rae Domazet, 91, formerly of Clifton, VA died Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Signature Health North Hardin in Radcliff, KY. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rae (Luck) Domazet; brother, Joseph T. Domazet; sister, Lois Domazet Carr and brother-in-law, Jesse C. Carr, Jr. Surviving family members include her sister-in-law, Marjorie P. Domazet; niece, Marsha Carr Elliott, (husband, Gary Elliott); niece, Susan Carr McCurry (husband, Jeff McCurry); niece, Kate Carr Allen (husband, C. Dabney Allen, Jr.); great-nieces, Cara McCurry, Mary Kate Elliott, and Abi Elliott; and great-nephew, Cody McCurry (wife, Jess McCurry).
Doris was born on June 7, 1930, in Washington, D.C. and raised in Culpeper, VA. After graduating from Culpeper High School, Doris earned her Bachelor's degree in English Education and later, her Master's degree in Guidance Counseling from Radford College. She began her career in Christiansburg, moved on to Culpeper and finished the remainder of her career serving the students of Fairfax County Schools as a guidance counselor until her retirement. Doris maintained her membership at Culpeper Baptist Church after moving to Fairfax County and served Corea Baptist Church in Corea, Maine during the summers as their pianist. Doris was an avid reader and Fox News junkie, enthusiastic Hokies football fan, lifetime learner, and lover of the state of Maine where she spent her summers since the late 1960's.
A graveside service will be conducted at Fairview Cemetery, 822 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA, on May 7, 2022 at 10:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made by check to the Alzheimer's Association® or by visiting their online website at act.alz.org
