Donnie Ray Overholt's Obituary
Donnie Ray Overholt, age 70, of Aroda, died on December 3, 2021 after a three-year battle with cancer. He was born in Norfolk, VA on June 26, 1951 to Joseph and Mary Ann Overholt.
Donnie’s growing-up years were spent in Virginia and Kentucky. In his youth, he returned to Virginia where a young lady caught his attention, and on July 8, 1972, he was married to Nancy Martin. Donnie was well known as a hard worker and spent many years as a mason. In his later years he enjoyed going to auctions and acquired many things that he would resell at the Front Royal flea market. Donnie was the ultimate family man and was delighted to be blessed with nine children. He was a loving husband and father. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends.
Donnie is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy; his nine children, Al Overholt and his wife, Katherine, Ashley Overholt, Fonda Overholt, Faylene Stoll and her husband, Jeff, Alban Overholt and his wife, Julissa, Felica Helmuth and her husband, Titus, Fanita Clemons and her husband, Josh, Austin Overholt and his wife, Liz, and Ardell Overholt and his wife, Audrey; and eleven grandchildren, Zach, Carson, Brielle, Mia, Destiny, Logan, Patrick, Sophia, Zoe, Mya, and Tyree. He was given the grand tour of Heaven by his loving grandson, Brandon.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 6, 2021 from 2 to 4 pm and from 6 to 8 pm at Oak Grove Mennonite Church, 563 Tom Johnston Rd., Aroda, VA 22709.
A funeral service will be held, Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 10am at Oak Grove Mennonite Church.
Interment will follow at Oak Grove Mennonite Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his sons and sons-in-law.
