Donna Kay Sutphin's Obituary
Donna Kay Sutphin (Reed), 72, of Jeffersonton, Virginia, passed away on March 31, 2026, in her home in Huddleston, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on May 27, 1953, in Clintwood, Virginia, Donna was the daughter of Hester Ann Reed (Hill) and Winfred Reed. She dedicated 32 years of service to the Fairfax County Health Department as a dental hygienist before retiring and opening Donna Kay’s Kiddie Care, where she lovingly cared for children and became a cherished part of many families’ lives.
A devoted Christian, Donna lived her faith with sincerity, humility, and joy. She loved Jesus deeply and served the Lord with a steadfast heart. Donna and her husband Stan were foster parents for 25 years, welcoming 36 children into their home and ultimately adopting six. Her life was a testament to compassion, generosity, and the belief that every child deserves love, safety, and belonging.
Donna is survived by her loving husband, Dean Stanley Sutphin, and their children Christopher (Lorraine), Pamela, Courtney, Steven, Jessica, Stephanie, Alexa, and Lamar. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Emily, CJ, Gavin, Savanna, and Tristan.
She is also survived by her mother, Hester Ann Reed (Hill), and her brother, Bobby Alan Reed (Laura), along with his children Joshua (Heather) and children, Danielle (Simon) and children, Audrey (Nick) and children, Michigan, Jake, and Jason.
Donna was preceded in death by her father, Winfred Reed, and her beloved daughter, Sabrina.
Donna’s legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched with her faith, her kindness, her unwavering devotion to children, and her boundless love for her family. Her presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, Va. A funeral service in her memory will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Battlefield Baptist Church, 4361 Lee Highway, Warrenton, Va. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
