Donna Lee
Donna Joanne Lee, 68, of Fredericksburg passed away Monday, February 9, 2009 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Donna is the daughter of the late, Mr. & Mrs. John L. Richards of Fredericksburg.
Donna is survived by her husband, Gwin Lee; one daughter, Virginia Lee, three sister in laws, Roberta Lee of Richmond, Lillian Robey, and Nancy Butts of Roanoke; her god daughter, Susan Castillo; her cousins, John W. Drew, Jr. of Colonial Beach and Jean Carrier of Dudein, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Donna was active in the organization, Daughters of the Confederacy. She attended Corcoran School of Arts in D. C. on a full scholarship and went on to attend the Strayer Business College. Donna retired from the Smithsonian in 1969 as head designer at the History & Tech Building in D.C.
Donna’s family will receive friends Sunday, February 15, 2009 from 5:00 ~ 8:00 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel~Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held Monday, February 16, 2009 at 1:30 pm at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 9403 Kings Highway, King George, VA. 22485 with the Rev. Diane Carroll officiating. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Donna’s name to the charity of your choice or to the SPCA, 1523 Olde William Street Fredericksburg, VA. 22401 or to the Fredericksburg Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 4101,Fredericksburg, VA. 22402.
