Donna was born on May 26, 1925 in Morgan, Minnesota to Carl and Dora Paape. She grew up in Morgan, graduating from Morgan High in 1943. On December 31, 1943 she married Robert Freitag in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, where they made their home for several years. To this union was born Nancy Freitag.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter; brothers, Ronald and William Paape; and sister, Audrey P. Karver.
Donna and her family were also longtime members of St. John’s Episcopal Church in St. Cloud. A service to commit her ashes will be held at a later date at St. John’s Episcopal Church Columbarium.
