Donald Eugene Meadows' Obituary
Donald Eugene “Gene” Meadows, Sr. age 75, of Warrenton, VA passed away in his home Friday, April 1 surrounded by his children. He fought a courageous battle with cancer.
Gene was born in Affinity, West Virginia on February 23, 1936 to Willie and Goldie Meadows. He served in the Army and was a Korean War veteran. Gene enjoyed a long career in the aviation industry and worked for Eastern Airlines for over thirty years and continued working in the industry until retiring last year. He was a devoted father and grandfather as well as a sportsman and an avid Washington Redskins and Nationals fan.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Naoma as well as his parents and numerous brothers and sisters.
Survivors include six children, Tammy Peters and husband, George Peters, Sr. of Murfreesboro, TN, Donald E. Meadows, Jr. of Orlando FL, Gary Meadows and wife, Rhonda of Fairview, TN, Ronald Meadows and wife, Traci of Tahlequah, OK, Cheresa Meadows-Harrity and husband, Steve of Triangle, VA, and Natalie Sealock and husband, John of Catlett, VA; two sisters, Kay Sperling of Mohawk, NY and Nira McKenna of Lawrenceville, GA; twelve grandchildren, George G. Peters, Jr., Joshua Peters, Nathan Peters, Nicole and Kayla Meadows, Conor and Tyler Meadows, Britney and Jacob Meadows, Zachary Meadows, Nicholas Harrity and Gabriel Sealock; three great-grandchildren, Aden, Ethan Peters and Lilianne Peters.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Found and Sons Lee Funeral Chapel, 8521 Sudley Road, Manassas, VA 20109. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with the interment to follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens.
