Donald Fredrick Freeman Sr.'s Obituary
Donald F. Freeman, age 71, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
He was born on August 16, 1953, at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland, to Jacquelyn M. Freeman (nee Mehler) and Claude F. Freeman.
Donald is survived by his wife, Jeane Camelo; children, Christanna, Benjamin, Jennifer, Donald Jr, Dionne (Dee), Ariel, and Alexa; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, Donna, Joseph, Catherine, Gene, and Barbara; and his loving Pitbull mix companion, Donnis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Terri Dudley.
Donald grew up in Washington, DC, and graduated from Surrattsville High School in Clinton, Maryland. After graduation, Donald spent six years in the Air Force Reserve and began his civilian career on Andrews Air Force base, working his way to a management position in civil engineering and contract administration. He spent the last years of his career at the DC Armory.
Donald engaged in coaching youth lacrosse and basketball. His dedication to the team, coaching towards the success of the team and genuine care for each participant made each game a success, win or lose.
