Donald Kenneth Cowdrick's Obituary
Donald Kenneth Cowdrick, 79, of Colonial Beach, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Westmoreland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Colonial Beach, VA.
Donald was born and raised in New Jersey. He spent most of his life residing on the Jersey Shore until moving to be closer to his daughter Linda Robbins in Colonial Beach. Donald was a true waterman. He loved the shore and spent his free time sailing, and volunteering his time with the Salvation Army. Donald worked for Wall Township in the New Jersey school system for 30 years, until his retirement.
Donald leaves behind his daughter, Linda Robbins of Colonial Beach; his sister, Viola Murphy, which is his last remaining sibling from a family of ten children. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Emily Osborne and her husband, Mark of Fredericksburg, and Donna McCall and her husband, Chris of Atlanta; four great-grandchildren, Laura, Heather, Matthew, and Patrick, all of Atlanta; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Barbara Cowdrick.
Services for Mr. Cowdrick will be private.
In lieu of flowers, Donald's family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to The Salvation Army New Jersey Chapter.
