Dollie Powers Harouff's Obituary
Dollie Powers Harouff, 90, of Culpeper died Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at her son’s residence in Madison. She was born October 23, 1920 in Georgetown, SC to the late Rev. Wade H. and Massie Poston Powers.
Mrs. Harouff was a veteran of the US Navy and served during the WWII era and was retired from G.C. Murphy Co. in Culpeper. She was a lifelong member of the Lake Chapel Baptist Church in Johnsonville, SC and a recent member of the Woodland United Methodist Church in Culpeper. She was also a past member of the Mitchells Ruritanetts and Brandy Station Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her four children, April Morgan and her husband, Freddie of Ramseur, NC, Gayle H. Roland and her husband, Michael of Burke, VA, Alan J. Harouff of Culpeper and Wade Harouff and his wife, Stephanie of Madison, VA.
Additional survivors include four grandchildren, Maria H. Walrond and her husband, Richard, Stephen Harouff, Christopher Roland and Timothy Roland, and two great grandchildren, Stephanie Walrond and Nora Walrond.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan Judson Harouff, two brothers, Lee Powers and John J. Powers, three sisters, Ruby P. Rogers, Odie P. Dryer and infant sister, Ruth Powers, and son-in-law, Fulton Lucas, Sr.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Judy Hensley officiating.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery with military honors provided by Culpeper American Legion Post #330 and V.F.W. Post #2524.
