Dinah Amanda Williams' Obituary
Dinah Amanda Williams, a beloved soul, departed on October 1, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She was born to the proud parents Jonathan and Elizabeth Williams on July 27, 1951, in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Dinah was the eldest sibling, with two sisters, Augusta and Iyamida (deceased), her brother, Jonathan Williams, and cousin, Comfort Johnson, who was like a sister to her.
Growing up, Dinah pursued education with passion and dedication. She attended St. John’s Primary School and later graduated from FSSG High School in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Her thirst for knowledge led her to Northern Virginia Community College in the United States, where she continued her academic journey.
During her life, Dinah contributed to her community and the world around her. She dedicated her skills and talents to the Port Authority in Sierra Leone, leaving an indelible mark with her hard work and commitment. Later, she served as a bank teller in the United States, demonstrating her unwavering work ethic and kindness to everyone she encountered.
On November 14, 1981, Dinah welcomed her precious son, Darrell Oluremie Williams, into the world. She embraced motherhood with love and devotion, shaping Darrell into the remarkable person he is today. In addition to her son, Dinah is survived by her daughter-in-law, Joanna Williams, and her three adoring Precious, Princess, and Perry.
Dinah’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends, spanning across continents. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of her family in Freetown, Sierra Leone, London, and the United States. She will be remembered for her kindness and the love she shared with everyone around her.
As we bid farewell to Dinah Amanda Williams, let us celebrate her life, a life well-lived, and find solace in the beautiful memories she gifted us. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her legacy of love continue to inspire us all.
Dinah's family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2023 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. The funeral service will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
