Dick Brown Butler's Obituary
Dick Brown Butler, 85, of Rixeyville, died peacefully on June 11, 2016 at his residence with his wife and family by his side. Dick was born in Rappahannock County on May 27, 1931 to the late Lillie Mae Butler.
Dick was a proud veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps, he excelled to the rank of Lance Corporal being assigned to an Air wing Division, serving his term of duty during the Korean Conflict. Upon his discharge he owned and operated an Aluminum siding, Windows and door replacement service. He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking time to go hunting, fishing and going to the Horse Races. Many knew Dick by his C.B. Handle “Fox”
Dick is survived by his wife of over 24 years Martha Sue Butler and two stepchildren; Thomas Michael Richards and his wife Kathleen Becker Richards of Madison, VA and Christopher Eric Richards and his fiancé Kimberly Ann Taylor of Culpeper, VA. Three grandchildren; Anna Clair Richards of Madison, Christopher Dalton Richards and Daniel Chase Richards both of Culpeper.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with Preacher Charles Shifflett officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Culpeper VFW Post 2524.
Pallbearers named; Thomas Michael Richards, Christopher Eric Richards, Jeffrey Todd Haynes, James Scott Coffey, James “Bubba” Jenkins and Bernard “Moe” Jenkins. Honorary Pallbearers named; Tucker Lee Sisk and Jacob Dylan Thacker.
