Denzil Richard Kitzmiller's Obituary
Denzil Richard Kitzmiller, 88 passed away peacefully at home on December 6, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2021 at Quantico National Cemetery with Military Honors 18424 Joplin Rd. Triangle, VA. 22172.
He was born on June 3, 1933 in Mt. Morris PA. to Charles William Kitzmiller and Hattie Helen Boone Kitzmiller. He was the second of eight children. He is survived by his son David E. Kitzmiller, his daughter Terry L. Cullison, (Jim) a grand daughter Jennifer D. McCoin, (Steve), a grandson Jeromie C. Garland, (Kelly) a granddaughter Leslie A. Wichmann. Eight great grandchildren. A brother Ronald Kitzmiller, (Sherri) of Chattanooga, TN. A sister Karen Dalton, (Blaine) of Ashland, VA. and several nieces and nephews.
Following his tour in the Marine Corp he worked at Ft. Belvoir Army Post and the at Quantico Marine Corp Base as an auto mechanic. Once he retired from Quantico he took a full time job for several years driving a heating oil truck for Southern States.
He was known as Grandpa not only to his own grandchildren but also to their friends that they brought home, soon enough he just went by grandpa to most everyone. The profession he was best at and well known to his family for was being Mr. Mom.
He was dearly loved by his family and will be dearly missed by all of us.
A celebration of his life reception will be held at 12:00 following his service, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 5600 Smith Station Rd. Fredericksburg, VA. 22407.
