Dennis John Goc's Obituary
Dennis John Goc, 73, passed peacefully on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at home in Lake Anna, VA, surrounded by his loving family after a six-month battle with aggressive lung cancer.
He affected every soul he met. A quip, a story, a connection-he had a magnetism to befriend anyone and chose to help everyone. Dennis graduated from Niagara University, became a banker, and held positions in Buffalo, NY and Clarks Summit, PA. He was an avid golfer with his neighbors, friends, and Bunker Bandit buddies, an enormous Buffalo Bills’ Fan, an experienced skier, skilled fisherman, and the Captain of Cozy Cove where he enjoyed the past eight years on Lake Anna, VA.
Dennis is survived by his compassionate wife of 50 years, Kathie Vidal Goc; brother, Matthew Krupa of Brandon, FL; daughter, Rachel Vidal Goc of Philadelphia, PA; as well as daughter and son-in-law, Audrey Vidal and Scott Lindsay Baldwin of Bristow, VA. His adoring grandchildren Reese, Shay, and Trace Baldwin, will keep Papa alive through the endless life lessons, laughter, joy, and memories built together at the lake. May his moral compass inspire us all to honor our families and live our lives with humor.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Florence and Andrew Goc; and brother, Gay Goc.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial gathering on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, VA.
On Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. a mass will be held in Dennis’ honor at St. Jude Catholic Church located at 1937 Davis Highway, Mineral, VA. Friends and family are warmly invited to attend as well.
The family requests that anyone wishing to express their sympathy please do so by making a donation to The Lake Anna Civic Foundation https://www.lakeannavirginia.org/ or to the American Cancer Society https://www.cancer.org/
