Della Mary Menefee's Obituary
Della Mary Menefee, 84, of Rixeyville passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at her residence. She was born February 26, 1930 in Sperryville to the late Oliver and Nina Pullen Atkins.
Mrs. Menefee was a former member of Washington Baptist Church and was attending New Hope Baptist Church. She was considered a mother and caregiver to all tending to everyone that walked through her door.
She is survived by three children, William Cleveland Menefee of Rixeyville, Wanda Lee Rutherford and her husband, Jackie of Rixeyville and Linda Lou Bird and her husband, Robert of Washington, VA; fourteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland Smith Menefee; one son, Carson Eastham Menefee; three siblings, Vincent Lee Atkins, Lewis James Atkins and Harrison Cletis Atkins; and one grandchild.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2014, at 11 am at Sperryville Cemetery Rev. Phil Bailey officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the family, c/o Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
