Delcia Sue Stevens' Obituary
Delcia Stevens, 82, of Culpeper died Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the University of VA Medical Center. She was born August 23, 1929 in Okemah, Oklahoma to the late James and Mattie Rice Weaver.
Mrs. Stevens was a Lieutenant in the US Air Force and was a nurse for over 48 years. After her retirement, she was the caregiver of the family. She loved golf, football and most any sport. She was loved by all who met her.
She is survived by her children, David J. Small and his wife, Debbie of Myrtle Beach and Dava L. O’Connell and her husband, Thomas of Culpeper, four grandchildren, Amanda O’Connell, Samantha O’Connell, Brent Small and his wife, Megan, and Cheyenne Small, and one great grandchild, Aiden Thomas Brown.
Additional survivors include one sister, Jimmie L. Ward of Fairview, OK, one niece, Sharon Ward of Portland, OR, one nephew, Gary Ward of Eden, OK, and three sisters-in-laws, Arline Barksdale of Lynchburg, VA, Nancy Hun Bizde of Richmond, VA and Carol Weaver of Yukon, OK.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lile Stevens and one brother, Charles J. Weaver.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 11 am at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Rev. Sandy Martin officiating.
A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
