Debra Ruth Elwood's Obituary
Debra Ruth Elwood “Debi” passed away on January 6, 2024, at the age of 69 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She was born on February 22, 1954, in Pasadena, Texas, to her late parents, OK Allen and Zinnie Nell Brown.
Debi was a loving wife to Johnny Elwood and a devoted mother to her children, George Jones and his wife Marieke, Melissa Chabot and her husband Shawn, and Wendy Steele and her husband Mark. She was also a cherished grandmother to Andrew Chabot, Ashley Chabot, Callum Steele, and Emma Steele.
Her favorite activities revolved around spending time with her family and being actively involved in her church. Debi's love for both was boundless. She was a deaconess in the Church of God Worldwide Association and was baptized in 1986. She never missed a Sabbath or Holy Day until she was overcome with illness in her last few months.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Debi's life at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the Church of God Worldwide Association located at 3051 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, Virginia. The service will be a time for family and friends to come together, share memories, and honor Debi's legacy.

Debi's warm presence and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
