Deborah Renee Smith's Obituary
Deborah Renee Walker Rutherford Smith went to be with our Heavenly Father on April 22, 2021. Debbie was born to Margaret Ann Jenkins Walker (McKenzie) and Dewey Dowling Walker on February 21, 1968.
She was raised mostly in Culpeper and Orange counties. Debbie loved her family and spent her last few years spending time with her grand kids, whom she loved to play cards with and watch wrestling.
Debbie’s final wish to people was to put God back in your hearts, homes, family and country. Love God; put Him first. Put your family second and support our United States of America.
She was survived by her husband of 25 years, Franklin R. Smith, Sr. She and Frank spent 31 years together. She is also survived by her sons Brandon Jackson Rutherford and his wife, Erin and Joshua Randolph Smith, her daughter, Christina Nicole Simpson; two step-children, Franklin R. Smith, Jr. and his wife Robben and Jennifer Marie Smith Strunk and her wife, Joy; eleven grandchildren, Isaiah, Cameron, Kelsey, Kaylee, Savannah, and Logan Rutherford, Kaylee Keir, James, Pamela, Bonnie and Virginia Smith; a sister, Rose Fletcher and her husband, Larry; a brother, George Walker, and his wife, Ann; three aunts, Mary, Betty and Gertie; three special friends, Pamela Mitura, Tonya Dysart and Amanda Keir; ex-husband, Kenneth Rutherford and ex-mother-in-law, Nellie Rutherford; nieces and nephews, Melinda, Jennifer, Chris and Shawn; and numerous cousins. Debbie also left behind two fur children, Bobo and Snowball.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Robert and Frances Jenkins and James Haywood and Lucille Dove Jenkins; her in-laws, Randolph and Beulah Smith; her ex-father-in-law, Bobby Rutherford; five uncles, Lawrence, Robert, Jr., J.D., Melvin and Jay; and one aunt, Shirley.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 6 pm until 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701. Due to COVID 19 mandates, masks are required to enter the building.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 11:00 am at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jon Heddleston officiating. The family would like to invite those unable to attend to join the service via live stream at
