I had to light the red candle for Debbie because I remember how stunning she was in her hot red pantsuit (she was sassy and said "it reminded her of her teenage years when she & her friends would wear 'sizzle suits' when they got dressed up"). That is how I will always choose to remember Debbie, with that sass and the fire in her eyes. She had hard times, but always persevered and lived a good life. She always had a hug, a kind word and a hot meal for anyone who ever entered her home, as I recall she was ALWAYS in the kitchen, usually cooking for a mob. She is who taught me how to just dig in with both hands, elbows deep when mixing large amounts of 'tater salad (hands & arms scrubbed first of course). I could share memories all day. I know our families have not seen each other in quite some time, but for about 8 years, we would all be together at least 2 days a week (the weekends) if not more. Willie, I know that my Mama and Daddy loved you and Debbie dearly. Please know that time & distance has never diminished that love for your entire family! Peace be with you guys as you go through some of the hardest days you will ever have to endure. And to Debbie, rest easy my dear friend, the fight is over! God Bless you all!
