I met Dave when we worked together on several Habitat for Humanity homes in Culpeper. He was a great guy, talented and very kind. I remember him always referring to himself as “that dam engineer”.

I only got to meet Dave once, but was immediately impressed by his musicianship and kindness. I know he will be missed immensely in the City Band, and I wish his family nothing but peace and comfort.
So very sorry for your loss. Dave was in the Fairfax band with me for many years. He introduced me to the Fauquier Band just recently. I always enjoyed his sense of humor and positive outlook on life. I'll miss him very much but am comforted in knowing that he's in God's loving hands now.
My wife and I have known David for many years especially when David lived in Montclair and played solos at the Dumfries United Methodist Church where my wife was music director. We also enjoyed trips together at the Windjammers Circus Band conventions in Florida and other places. My wife passed away in 2022 but I still stayed in touch with David in the Fairfax City Band. David was a wonderful person and will be missed dearly. Richard Wade
David Zehner has been a good neighbor for the past 20 years in Quail Ridge. His immaculately kept lawn, beautiful pond and fountain have been a cornerstone of the neighborhood. He was someone you could count on. We will miss seeing him on our walks and chatting with him. Wishing peace and comfort to the whole Zehner family. With deepest sympathy, Alexia Groszer

Deep condolances to Dave's family. Dave and I were never at a loss for comparing the rivalry of Michigan and Ohio State, and many times I'd wear Michigan gear just to get the conversation started. Dave was always a positive, friendly person and a very talented musician and leader with a wonderful tone. Rest your oars, Sailor and dear friend. We now have the watch.
David is one of the good guys, feed the hungry, help those in need, the list continues. His family is in my prayers. He will be greatly missed.
Cathy
