David Miles Wolfford, Sr.'s Obituary
David Miles Wolfford, Sr, 81, of Culpeper, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at his home. He was born June 16, 1939 in Alexandria, Virginia to the late Edgar and Vivian Wolfford.
David was a Marine Corps veteran, a member of New Salem Baptist Church and former member of Culpeper Masonic Lodge, Fairfax 43 AF & AM. He was a mentor to many in the Culpeper community and gave many young men great opportunities through his company, David M. Wolfford and Son, Inc. David loved his family and friends, but especially his bride of 63 years, Barbara. He enjoyed spending time with his dog, Skye Blue and watching UVA football.
David is survived by his wife, Barbara Wolfford; two children, David Miles Wolfford, Jr. (Beth) and Whitney Elaine Wolfford; six grandchildren, Christy Sandler (Joel), Rebecca Morrison, Devin Woodard, David M Wolfford, III (Emily), Angela Wolfford and Rachel Young (Phillip); nine great grandchildren, Phillip Young, Jr., Sydney Lee, Sasha Wolfford, Domonic Young, Olivia Gray, Zachary Sandler, David M. Wolfford, IV, Simon Sandler, and Levi Sandler; and two brothers-in-law, Randy Weadon and Harold D. Clatterbuck.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by one grandson, Morgan A. Wolfford; one great grandson, Damian Young; and six siblings, Bruce Wolfford, Jane Lee Ponto, Neal Wolfford, Margaret Brown (John), Carol Weadon, and John Henry Wolfford.
Services will be held Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at New Salem Baptist Church, 8233 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, Virginia with Pastor Michael Dodson and Pastor Sandford Martin officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Due to Covid-19 mandates, masks are required to enter the building. The family would like to invite those unable to attend in person, to join the service via livestream at www.nsbaptistchurch.org
Interment will follow at Culpeper Masonic Cemetery, N Main Street (Rt. 229) Culpeper, Virginia. Honors will be provided by the US Marine Corp.
