Rev. David "Sam" Pearson Sr.'s Obituary
Rev. David "Sam" Pearson, Sr, of Birchwood, TN passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon, Jan. 11, 2013.
Sam was born June 7, 1945 in Alexandria, Va., and reared in Brentsville, Va. He graduated from Garfield High School in 1963, Pensacola Christian College in 1983 and Pensacola Theological Seminary.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Irma Pearson; sons and daughter-in-law, David Pearson Jr. of Arlington, Va., and Michael and Gina Pearson, of Ooltewah; sisters, Mary Pumphrey and Pat Turner; brother, Bud Pearson; four grandchildren, Ryan, Brandon, Taylor, and Jackson and many nieces and nephews.
Rev. Pearson pastored the Lake of the Woods Baptist Church, Spotsylvania, VA for 4 years and then Flat Run Baptist Church, Locust Grove, VA for 11 years until he retired.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday and 10-11 a.m., Tuesday in Lakewood Baptist Church, Harrison. Dr. David Bragg will conduct the service Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the church.
Interment services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. Jan. 16, in Grace United Methodist Cemetery in Hartwood, Virginia.
