David A. Parker's Obituary
David A. Parker, 64, of Warrenton and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Friday, August 17, 2012 at Veterans Hospital in Wahsington, DC. He was born December 1, 1947 in Natick, Massachusetts to the late Kenneth Parker and the late Ethel Sawtell Parker.
David was married to the love of his life, Nelda, for 41 years. He loved music and singing. A favorite hobby was fishing, but his family was convinced he was simply drowning worms.
He was a Chemical Engineering Technician for the DC Water Authority for 34 years, having learned his trade while serving in the U.S. Army in the Viet Nam war. David was also a computer expert who taught himself on machines like the Apple IIc.
David is survived by his wife, Nelda, a son, Sean Parker, and a daughter, Valerie Parker, all of Warrenton. Additional survivors include three brothers, Kenneth, George, and Andy Parker, and two sisters, Dorothy Hainline and Diane O’loughlin, all of Natick, Massachusetts. Other survivors include many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Culpeper National Cemetery with Pastor David Shollenberger officiating.
Military honors will be provided by VFW Post 2524 and American Legion Post 330.
