David Linn "Dave" Graham's Obituary
David Linn Graham “Dave” of Culpeper, VA died December 5, 2014 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born January 5, 1949 in Staunton, VA to the late William J. Graham II and Jean Porter Harshbarger.
Graduating with a degree in Business Administration from Roanoke College, he went on to serve in the Army Reserve and work for the Culpeper County Highway Department. He began his career as an appraiser for Fairfax County and later founded Graham Appraisal Services with his wife in 1983.
He married Juanita Anne Hooe “Nita” of Nokesville in 1972, and cherished every moment they spent together until her passing in 2011.
As a charter member of Reformation Lutheran Church in Culpeper, Dave served as church counsel president, in the men’s group, on the building committee, the worship and music committee, and the call committee to select pastors.
Dave was interested in American military history, genealogy, stamp collecting, and antiquing. Sociable and kind, Dave made lasting connections with people everywhere he went. He also cherished spending time with his six grandchildren.
He is survived by his two children, Anne Colby Logan and her husband, Aaron of Woodbridge, Lindsey Van Lear Graham of Warrenton; one brother, William J. Graham III of Orange; two sisters, Margaret Aunins of Richmond, and Laura Brown of Mechanicsville; six grandchildren, Kodi and Trevor Logan, Nicholas and Whitney Duszak, Cayden and Mackenzie Logan; as well as a host of other family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 7 to 9 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 12 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Brad Hales officiating.
Interment will follow in Valley View Cemetery in Nokesville.
A reception to celebrate Dave's life will be held at a later date.
