David Craig Dennis' Obituary
David Craig Dennis, 35, of Culpeper, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026 at his residence. He was born October 31, 1990 in Alexandria, VA to Craig Sidwell Dennis and Sharon Louise Dennis.
David graduated from Culpeper High School in 2009 and followed his passion for math and science at New River Community College. He then graduated in 2018 from Virginia Tech as an Aerospace Engineer and enjoyed displaying his keen ability for rocket science.
David will be remembered as an aerospace engineer who dedicated his career to serving the Department of Defense, working for the Navy at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Carderock, MD. There he enjoyed repairing drones and building advanced technologies for the warfighter. Beyond his professional accomplishments, David embraced life with enthusiasm and joy and was known for his generous and loving heart. He had a passion for skateboarding and is an original member of the Rep the Pep skate crew. He also enjoyed snowboarding, taking several trips to the Rocky Mountains and Snowshoe Mountain in West Virginia, while
also being employed as a snowboard instructor at Massanutten Resort. He could often be found riding his skateboard wherever he went, even in a suit and tie.
David is survived by his parents, Craig and Sharon Dennis; sister, Sandra Louise Dennis; brother, Jacob Henry Dennis and spouse Matthew Bruce James, brother Joseph Michael Dennis and his wife, Katerina Sofia Salas Natchova; nephew, Lorenzo Inti Dennis Salas; his beloved dog, Ziva; and a host of additional friends and family.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 26, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026 at 1 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper with Pastor Mark Jenkins officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
