Darwin Dennis Shafer's Obituary
Darwin Dennis Shafer, 88, of Jeffersonton, VA died Sunday, January 17, 2021 at his home. He was born August 3, 1932 in Boone, Iowa to the late Darwin and Catherine Shafer.
Denny truly enjoyed fishing in his pond and feeding wild animals. He loved relaxing outdoors on his porch while watching airplanes and was an avid coin collector. Most of all, though, Denny took great joy in spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Denny is survived by two sons, Carl Shafer (Audrey) and Eric Shafer (Missy) and one daughter, Teresa Shafer-Simon (Joseph); nine grandchildren, Catherin Krezic (Denis), William Shafer (Valine), Lisa Shafer, Adrian Shafer, Ken Shafer, Kris Shafer, Debbie Michaelson (Matt), Joey Simon (Eliza), and Sherrie Robbins (Kevin); and seven great-grandchildren, Mia Krezic, Mia and Mason Michaelson, Aleks Simon, Josclyn, Breann and Annsley Robbins.
In addition to his parents, Denny was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Jean Shafer and one sister, Marylou Whitmer.
Funeral services will be private.
