I had the honor of working with Darrell for a long time and always valued his insights and ideas on how to better serve each other and our customers. His insights were fostered by his keen sense of observation and astute listening skills, and love for his fellow co-workers. He always approached each project with enthusiasm and kid-like joy that would only encourage others around him to be their best. I know Darrell, upon entry through the heavenly gates, was embraced by his Saviour and Darrell, with his smile and twinkle in his eye, offered a few ideas on how to enhance the banquet that awaits. May God bless Darrell's family during this difficult time.

A great, big, gentle man with an even bigger heart and soul -- Darrell was the kind of friend and co-worker that brightened-up the daily grind at the workplace. I cherished his sense of humor, his warm and comfortable voice and the laugh he always loved to share. Such a talented person, who enjoyed sharing all of life's pleasures with those around him. A particularly fond memory was the honor of introducing my young son to him, during a Chesapeake Bay fishing charter that Darrell helped organize for his office mates and their loved ones. It was obvious what a terrific parent this Navy man was, as he gently guided my son through his first big-water experience -- akin to a rite of passage for such a young man. May God continue to hold Darrell in the hollow of His mighty hand and to bring comfort to his family during this difficult time. -- don godwin
I remember a delightful dinner with Darrel, Elaine and his children when I was able to enjoy his warmth and wit as we shared life. Danny, my husband, was able to spend many hours with Darrel at work but I got to know him more through his wonderful loving family. I appreciated his artwork as he created the wedding invitations for our second daughter’s wedding! I’m sorry he passed from this world so early but he was a good man and left a legacy through his children.
