Darold Ninan Dick's Obituary
Darold Ninan Dick passed away on July 20th, 2024, at the age of 92. Born on July 13, 1932 in
Sandstone, West Virginia, Darold was a loving husband to Lois Dick for nearly 60 years and a
loving father to Darold Dick, Jr. and Dana Morrison.
He spent most of his life in Culpeper, VA. For the majority of his career, Darold worked in commercial real estate for regional shopping centers. In later years he greatly enjoyed his work at Chrysler car dealership and Found & Sons. Darold served in the Air Force from 1951-1954. He was a devoted member of the Almas Temple Shriners and was a past master of Congress Masonic Lodge, both located in Washington D.C.
Despite his many responsibilities, Darold always made time for his family and passions. He was extremely proud of his heritage and enjoyed hosting annual family reunions where his 9 brothers and sisters and their families could all get together. He loved nature, birds, and leaving food out for the deer. He was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and he held season tickets for many years. He instilled a love for travel in his family. Throughout his life and upon retirement, he spent a number of years in Hutchinson Island, FL.
Darold is survived by his wife, Lois Dick; son, Darold Dick, Jr.; daughter, Dana Morrison, and her
husband, Matthew; brother, Orvis “Mac” Dick; sister, Albra Young, and her husband, Jim; sister,
Deanna Young; and grandchildren, Lauren Kube and Andrew Kube, Jr.; as well as many beloved extended family members. He will be missed dearly.
A memorial service will be held on October 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Culpeper National Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post 2524.
