Darlene Faulconer James' Obituary
Darlene Faulconer James, 71, joined her late sister, Patricia Ellen Faulconer and late father, Marvin Miller Faulconer in heaven Monday March 21, 2016 after an almost two year battle with Leukemia while surrounded by loved ones.
Darlene grew up in Culpeper and graduated from Culpeper High School. She worked in many offices including the CIA, Paveway Inc, Fredericksburg Country Club, and Transportation Technical Services before she retired. She loved to travel with the Hill & Dale Sams and to bowl with the Wednesday Night Fun Bunch League and the USBC. Darlene was a vibrant person who was quick to give a smile and a big laugh. She was described by friends as compassionate, fun, lively, sassy, and one tough cookie. Darlene always had a way to brighten people’s day and to make them laugh.
She is survived by her mother, Susie Shirley Faulconer; fiancé, Rick Cheek; her children, son Joseph James III (Melissa); daughters Kimberly Justice (Chris) and Stephanie Jenkins (Lee); her six grandchildren, Zachary, Rachel, Lauren, Nicole, Ellen and Quint; and a large extended family.
A memorial service will be held April 2, 2016 at 11:00am at Culpeper Baptist Church, 318 S. West Street, Culpeper VA. A reception will follow the service for all family and friends. A private graveside committal at the family plot in Fairview Cemetery will follow the reception.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorials contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is serving the family.
