Daniel Keith Payne's Obituary
Daniel Keith Payne, 51, of Rixeyville died Friday, May 8, 2009 at University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. He was born October 8, 1957 in Fauquier County, Virginia to the late Keith S. Payne and the late Walter Jean Radford Payne.
Dan was a former employee of Atlantic Research Corporation and also worked as an account supervisor for Capital One Financial. He was a former certified E.M.T. , a certified E.M.T. instructor, and a rescue squad member. Dan was an accomplished vocalist and musician, and was a former member of the Blue Ridge Chorale. At the time of his death he was working to develop a clown ministry to promote community outreach with a focus on children.
He was a lifelong member of Oak Shade Methodist Church in Rixeyville, where he served as a Lay Speaker, former Councilman and choir member. He enjoyed serving the community with various outreach programs.
He enjoyed his music, his church life, his family, and vacationing at the Outer Banks.
Dan is survived by a brother, Andrew Craig Payne, and his wife, Carolyn, of Culpeper. Additional survivors, all of Culpeper, in include a niece, Whitney N. Payne, two nephews, Brandon M. Payne and Steven L. Smith and his wife, Melissa D., great-nephews Beau A. Smith and Ryan M. Smith, and a special friend, Carol Scarberry. Dan will be missed by friends, family and the community.
