Daniel Charles Waterhouse's Obituary
On Wednesday, November 15, 2017, Daniel Charles Waterhouse, surrounded by family, succumbed to injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident on Thursday, November 9, 2017. Mr. Waterhouse was 79 years old.
Mr. Waterhouse was born September 28, 1938 in San Diego, California. His father was with the military, and the family was posted to multiple locations while he was growing up, the most memorable being Okinawa, Japan where he attended Kubasaki High School.
During high school, Daniel played on the Kubasaki Dragons basketball team, helping the team win several championships in the Far East League. Daniel was a lifelong member of the Kubasaki High School Alumni Association, and attended annual multiyear reunions at various locations throughout the United States. He will be sorely missed by the Kubasaki family.
Mr. Waterhouse made a career of designing, manufacturing, and installing draperies, window shades and other window treatments. His work included drapes in the White House and Congressional Office buildings, and window treatments in many well-known restaurants in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Tae; his daughter Carla Bosse (Justin) of Conroe, Texas; his son, Michael Waterhouse (Debbie) of Bealeton; four stepchildren, Curtis Hall of Fauquier, Darren Hall (Debbie) of Colorado, Sabrina Lovett (Martin) of Fairfax, and Shirlene Milam of North Carolina; and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his second wife, Judith Waterhouse and his third wife, Kitty.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 24, 2017 in Quantico National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Daniel’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060-9904.
