Daniel Glenn Scudder's Obituary
On Monday, February 1, 2021 Daniel Glenn Scudder, age 58, devoted husband, father and son passed away with his wife by his side. Dan was born in 1962 in Washington D.C. to Ernie and Marlene Scudder.
Dan’s faith and family were his top priorities. He was an avid boater, most summer weekends you would find Dan, Jeanie, Kyle and Shawn on Lake Anna. Dan was kept on his toes by Kyle’s love of practical jokes. They both loved one-upping each other in every way. Dan and Shawn shared a love of football. Friday nights you’d find Dan cheering on Shawn’s team.
Dan got the surprise blessing of his life with the birth of his daughter, Hannah, after having raised the boys. Gone were the days of strict parenting when he became “Daddy” to his little nugget. Dan loved having Hannah as his sidekick while working in the garage and on various projects in the shop.
Dan enjoyed being a part of Mountain View Community Church. Sunday mornings were reserved for attending worship service with his family. Additionally, he enjoyed being an active member of a life group.
Dan spent his professional life in the millwork industry as the quintessential salesman. His dedication to his customers and his love of excel spreadsheets were his trademark… because he was “Dan S”.
Dan was preceded in death by his father Glenn Ernest Scudder. He is survived by his precious wife and soul mate, Jeanie Lynn Scudder, his boys, Kyle Glenn Scudder (Karen Rivas), Shawn Douglas Moats, and his “Nugget” Hannah Nicole Jeanie Scudder. He is also survived by his loving mother Marlene Gloria Groomes, his sister Tina Marie VanDoren, his aunt and uncle Nancy and Marshall Abbate and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Mountain View Community Church, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Mark Jenkins and Josh Bowen officiating. The family is requesting guests honor the COVID 19 mandates and wear masks when in the church building.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Dan’s name to Mountain View Community Church “Fixer Upper” renovation project, 16088 Rogers Road, Culpeper, VA 22701.
An online tribute wall and guestbook are available at www.foundandsons.com
Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is serving the family.
