I worked with Dan over the past 15 years at 3 different companies. Dan was a funny guy. He didn't show worry or stress about anything that life sent his way. He was always happy and would let things roll off his back...and would say, "well, that's just how it is." I would call Dan when I was stressed about something at work or home, and he would always put it in perspective for me - he was a great sounding board!
We would often talk about our similar interests on health and exercise. We'd share our stories on the latest craze for optimal health, whether it be intermittent fasting, drinking beet juice to increase your nitric oxide, bulletproof coffee and the best foods to eat for energy and fitness. Whenever our teams got together on the road, Dan and I always were the two at the table ordering salmon. I don't think I've ever found anyone who eats salmon as much as I do. I have many, many fond memories of work events and traveling with Dan -- lots of laughs as we were all one big happy family!
Dan loved his Peloton. I remember the last in-person meeting we had (before Covid), it was in Raleigh. He actually rented a van and drove down from VA to Raleigh with his Peloton in the van so he could exercise in his hotel room! That's commitment...he really loved riding.
Every time we spoke on the phone, before we hung up, I would say good-bye, but Dan would always say "later!" Well Dan..."later" my friend -- I will see you LATER!
With deepest condolences,
Mary Gardiner
