Daniel Edward Lipscomb, Jr.'s Obituary
Daniel Edward Lipscomb, Jr. (Johnny), 92, of Mineral, VA, passed away Friday, November, 3, 2023 at his residence. He was born January 19, 1931 to the late Daniel Edward Lipscomb, Sr. and Virginia Ellen Goodwin.
Johnny was a resourceful, independent man who accomplished a great deal in his life. Even though he did not have the luxury of higher education, he successfully worked multiple careers, including truck driver, self-employed landscaper and construction superintendent/foreman. There was no limit to what he could accomplish through hard work and the belief that you could do anything you set your mind to. Johnny enjoyed bird hunting, boating, riding motorcycles, and being outdoors working. He was always quick to lend a helping hand IF it involved any kind of work! Even in his later years, he could out work someone many years his junior.
Johnny is survived by his children, Daniel E. Lipscomb, III. (Karen), Dennis J. Lipscomb, and Annette Teresa Lipscomb; grandchildren, Jacob Lipscomb (Marie), Courtney Flynn (Eric), Rachel Allman (Steven), Alec Lipscomb (Jennifer), and Benjamin Lipscomb; two great grandchildren, Amelia and Ivy; sister, May Walton; brother, Paul Lipscomb; and host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Johnny is preceded in death by his grandson, Jason Lipscomb, and sisters, Edith Glazebrook, and Mary Ellen Hayden Passman.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
