Daniel "Danny" P. Yau's Obituary
Danny P. Yau of Spotsylvania County, VA passed away Monday, September 8, 2025 at his home.
Danny leaves behind his best friend and loving wife of 43 years, Gwen Yau; his devoted daughters, Ashley Yau (Wells Sherman), and Courtney Yau; his mother Tomiko Yau; his brothers, Tommy Yau and Hoover Yau; and his beloved dog, Kuma. Additionally, he will be missed by his brother-in-law, Steve Goff and his wife, Hilda; sister-in-law, Donna Baker and her husband, Dennis; and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hoover Yau; and brother, Francis Yau.
Danny’s professional journey was diversified, including owning and managing a restaurant, garage door and excavation company.
In his life, Danny found joy in traveling with his family as well as landscaping and gardening, but his real passion was cooking for everyone. His kindness, generosity, and joy of cooking will be remembered by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by many who loved him and his memory will live on in our hearts.
Danny’s life was honored by immediate family in a private service.
