Cynthia Lynn Stevens' Obituary
Cynthia Lynn Stevens, affectionately known to all as Lynn, passed away very unexpectedly on May 23, 2024. Born to Alice Pearl Knauer and Richard Eugene Roberts on October 26, 1955, in Greencastle, Indiana. She was later raised in West Texas and always carried ferociously the spirit of a true Texan.
Lynn is survived by her loving husband of over 40 years, David Raymond Stevens and devoted children, Jeremy Stevens and Jennifer (Glenn) Allgaier. Her four grandchildren were her world, Alyssa, Adrianna, Roman and Amelia, they will continue to carry her legacy of volunteerism, childlike faith in Jesus, and love of family.
Lynn was a cherished member of the Roberts family, sister to Douglas (Rona Mae) Roberts, Mark (Cindy) Roberts, Raymond (Daina) Roberts and Sister-cousin Phyllis (Gail) Blackwell. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Retired from OBGYN Nursing, Lynn started her career in the ER and moved successfully through the ranks until she gained supervisory positions in various hospitals in the DC/NOVA Area. She spent the vast majority of her career in Labor and Delivery a unit She absolutely loved. Once her first granddaughter, Alyssa, was born she then started travel nursing to various hospitals across the United States.
A pillar of compassion, Lynn was an active volunteer, always ready to help those in need. Whether it was through community service projects or supporting outreach programs through her church family, Lynn left behind a community that was better for her presence.
An avid gardener, a true bargain hunter, and a casino-lover, Lynn was an adventurous traveler (the latest being an extended visit to the Holy Land), exploring new destinations whenever she could. She was always ready for an adventure!
Lynn was also a dedicated lifelong student with multiple Masters degrees, recently in the process of completing her Masters of Divinity from Grand Canyon University. Her commitment to education and personal spiritual growth was truly inspiring.
