Cynthia Sue Schmirl's Obituary
Cynthia Sue (Cindy) Schmirl, 62, of Fredericksburg passed away Monday, November 22, 2010 at Mary Washington Hospital.
She was an active member in the Catholic Church, Rappahannock POPS Orchestra, JoySong Ministries and Catholic Charities.
Cindy is survived by her daughter, Sarah S. Schmirl; her granddaughter and love of her life, Lily; her former husband, Rick; her sister, Lisa Seres and her stepmother, Fannie Chewning.
She was preceded in death by her father, J.H. Chewning, Jr.; her mother and stepfather, Helen and Joe Clavenna and her brother, Denny.
Cindy’s family will receive friends Sunday, November 28, 2010 from 7:00-9:00 pm with a rosary being said from 6:30-7:00 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, November 29, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
In lieu of flowers Cindy’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Rappahannock POPS Orchestra, P.O. Box 1662, Fredericksburg, VA 22402 or the JoySong Ministries, 11101 Dragon’s Lair Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22407.
