Cynthia A. Johnson's Obituary
Cynthia Ann Johnson, 59, of Spotsylvania County, Virginia, passed away March 7, 2020, at the Vibra Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. She finally succumbed to her injuries received in a tragic accident on February 14, 2020, after a lengthy stay at VCU hospital.
Cindy was born on January 13, 1961, in Peoria, Illinois. She spent most of her childhood and younger years living in Miller Beach, Indiana, where she attended Kennedy-King Elementary and William A. Wirt High School in Gary, Indiana.
At the tender age of 16, destiny brought Cindy to meet the love of her life on a train ride. They ultimately fell in love and she ran away with her “Tommy-Keith” of Annandale, Virginia, and they were soon married. She then lived in Arlington, Virginia, Fairfax, Virginia and Lakewood, Colorado, before moving to Spotsylvania, Virginia, following the birth of her second daughter.
Fun-loving and full of life, Cindy had a wide array of interests. She enjoyed spending time with friends, playing darts and even joined a dart team competing in weekly matches with other area teams. She also loved many types of card games including Spades, Shanghai Rummy, and Poker. She enjoyed a wide range of board games. Cindy was fond of engaging with people and would often strike up conversations with complete strangers and talk animatedly for considerable lengths of time, and making a new friend. She loved social media and staying in touch with past and present friends, as well as reaching out to loved ones regularly. Music was a huge part of Cindy’s life; she had wide and eclectic tastes and attended many concerts, plays and musicals throughout her life. Cindy was very interested in traveling and had only just begun to do so extensively. She began with traveling to some of the most beautiful areas in the western states including the Badlands and Yellowstone on a six-week, 5000-mile RV tour of her dreams last year.
Cindy’s main devotion was to her family, especially her daughters Taylor Ann and Wendy Lauren. She was the most loving and proud mother and would go above and beyond for her girls. She also loved animals and owned many including cats, dogs and even a rabbit! She had a lifelong dedication to helping others and devoted her whole heart into bettering their lives. She even opened her home and gave everything she had to help those she cared for; this was one of her greatest joys in life.
Cindy is survived by her husband Thomas K. Johnson of Spotsylvania, Virginia, daughter Taylor Ann Wiens, also of Spotsylvania, daughter Wendy Lauren Moran and her son-in-law Brenden Moran of Centreville, Virginia. brother Joseph Haverstuhl of Spotsylvania, Virginia, sister Deborah Novak and her brother-in-law James Novak of Morrison, Colorado. She is also survived by nephews Daniel Novak and Garrett Hoffman, nieces Christine Sides, Catherine LeRoy and Tesci Hoffman. She was preceded in death by her parents Patricia A. and Joseph P. Haverstuhl and her niece Sarah Ann Haverstuhl.
Services are pending.
Her wishes of scattering her ashes will be at the location of her choice on a future date.
