Cynthia Ann Godfrey's Obituary
Cynthia Ann Godfrey, 56, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at her residence after a brave and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born July 24, 1959 in Alexandria to Melvin Lee Zombro and the late Eveleen Barron Zombro.
Ms. Godfrey was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. She was a beloved “Mimi” to her two grandsons, Josiah and Jedidiah whom she helped to homeschool. She enjoyed her vocation as a seamstress and was very proud of working with the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Department as their tailor.
In addition to her father, she is survived by one daughter, Christi Thompson and her husband, Chris of Culpeper; two grandchildren, Josiah and Jedidiah Thompson, both of Culpeper; her sister, Karen Reynolds and her husband, Frank of Woodbridge; her brother, Tim Zombro and his wife, Robin; and her nephew, Tyler Zombro of Staunton.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Jamila Hassan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be officers from the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Department.
