Always ready with a smile and a hug–definitely a hug! I first met Cynthia many years ago when I was new to the world of film conventions. At Cinesation in Massillon, I believe it was, we found ourselves at a small table with James and Cynthia. I was still a bit in awe of the legendary James, but Cynthia was so warm and friendly I was immediately at ease. Ever after, at all the film conventions we attended, the minute Cynthia and I spotted each other, there was a beeline for that hug. She was just the sweetest lady you could ever meet. I knew she did a lot of volunteering at museums and libraries, but I never realized how much. The community has lost a wonderful volunteer. I will simply miss her very much.

Condolences to Elyssa and to Cynthia's family from an old family friend, Idelle. I have childhood memories of visiting many times the Berg family, playing with big sisters Elyssa and Cynthia along with my sister Myrna in their room. The sisters foursome found endless things to explore in that bedroom and played happily while brother Danny Berg and my brother Ken were occupied in boy activities. The word that comes to mind in remembering Cynthia is 'Chessed' - loving kindness. Never a harsh word, always generous, loving and happy for our company. May she Rest In Peace.

Heartfelt condolences on your great loss. I have such pleasant memories of Cindy. We were roommates in Israel and she was the only one of our friends to attend the small wedding when Udi and I were married.

I was a first year library media specialist at Weisenborn Middle School in the mid 1990"s when Cindy came into my life. She was a volunteer at the other middle school in the district and wanted to know if I needed any help in cataloging new books I purchased. Of course I did! Cindy was instrumental in helping our library get automated in those days. She loved that volunteer job so much she added an elementary to her volunteer schedule. So for thirteen years she volunteered for the Huber Heights City Schools three days a week. She was honored several times as a Volunteer of the Year for the Huber Heights Schools and once for a Dayton Regional Award for Outstanding Volunteer. She enjoyed making new friends with the other volunteers and sharing her experiences about her Scrabble tournaments or Cinema Festivals she attended with her beloved husband Jim. We missed her so much when she moved to Culpeper, Va. She would always call when she was in the area for a cinema event and we would meet for lunch to get caught up. My sympathies go out to her children Dawn, Larry and granddaughter Maya. You were so blessed!

I first met Cynthia through her husband James in the early 1990s when he worked for the Library of Congress Motion Picture Conservation Center on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. James worked in quality control and was a stickler for the details, trying always to get historic films to look as good as they possibly could. James and Cynthia used to attend classic film festivals all over the country making friends at Cinevent, Cinecon, Cinefest, Cinesation, Capitolfest, the George Eastman House, etc. Cynthia was always happy, smiling and engaging. Cynthia loved to chat films, movie stars, production values and especially the stories of good old movies. Since the news of her passing has spread across the internet tributes have come in from both coast, New York to Los Angeles. Seems everybody who got to meet her found her warm and charming. I will miss sitting with her in those theaters watching those forgotten films on the big screen then walking out into the light to share and discuss what we have just seen. She was always a sweetheart. Our best wishes and prayers to her family.

Cynthia's passing is such a loss for our community, and especially her museum family. Her kindness touched everyone - the museum visitors and other museum volunteers - she made such a effort to welcome every one. We shared book recommendations - a treat to find another kindred spirit who enjoyed historical fiction! Cynthia will be missed. My sympathies and prayers for her family. Pam Stewart

Cindy and I have been friends since the 1990's or much longer. I loved working with
her at both Studebaker and Weisenborn Jr. High Schools in Huber Heights, Oh.
We remained friends after her move to Culpeper and she and her husband Jim would
often visit me when they were on their way to their much loved Film Festivals.

I last spoke with Cindy in June 2020, as we shared the current events of family,
my granddaughters, and her granddaughter Maya, whom she loved so very much.
I will miss my friend more than word can say !

My deepest sympathy goes out to her family and close friends. She was a" Wonderful

I loved working with Cynthia at the Museum. Once in awhile we crossed paths at a Library of Congress film and sat together. She was so full of energy, life, and curiosity about everything. I doubt she was ever bored! I am so sorry to hear of her passing, and I will miss her very, very much. Condolences to all the family. Kathy Ellis

Cynthia often followed me on the volunteer schedule at the Museum. We would always chat for a while. She was such a nice lady, very pleasant to be around, and very interesting to talk to. Condolences to her family. She will be missed by me and at the Museum also I am sure.
