Courtney Brooke Barrett's Obituary
Courtney Brooke Barrett, 45, of Culpeper, went home to meet her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. She was born on April 24, 1976 in Fairfax, Virginia to Rev. Richard W. and Sherry Rogers Wright, both of Culpeper.
Raised in a devoted Christian family, Courtney was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend to everyone that she met. Her love for family, her giving heart, her positive outlook on life, and most importantly, her great faith in God will be remembered by all.
Courtney’s legacy will live on through the countless lives that she impacted. We will all miss her smile, her laugh, and her big blue eyes.
In addition to her parents, Richard and Sherry Wright, she is survived by her husband of more than twenty-three years, George R. (Bobby) Barrett; daughter, Bethany Gomez-Olvera (Carlos) of Charlottesville; sons Jordan and Elijah, both of Culpeper; granddaughter, Camilla Belle Gomez-Olvera; brother, Justin Wright (Megan) of Culpeper; grandmother, Lois Nell Wright of Angier, NC; and grandfather, Ralph Rogers of Fredericksburg, VA. Additional survivors include three nieces and three nephews, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.
Courtney was preceded in death by her grandmother, Virginia Seitz; and grandfather, Luke Wright.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 12, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Family Worship Center, 12077 Marsh Road, Bealeton, VA with a private viewing for the family from 4:00 to 5:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Richard Wright and Rev. Dallas Slemp officiating. Burial will follow in Bright View Cemetery
in Warrenton. Dinner will be provided at Family Worship Center immediately following the interment.
The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Danielle Shafer and the entire teams of both Inova Schar Cancer Institute and Inova Fairfax Hospital South Tower 9 for their valiant efforts to fight Courtney’s cancer. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in Courtney’s name to the Inova Schar Cancer Institute.
