Constance Davis' Obituary
Constance R. Davis, 80, of Fredericksburg passed away Monday, Feb. 5, 2007.
A lifelong resident of Fredericksburg, she was the daughter of the late Stuart C. Sullivan and Empsie Wright Sullivan.
Compiling a perfect attendance record throughout her entire school career, she graduated from James Monroe High School, where she was known for her joviality, good nature and star basketball skills.
Later, she joined the work force as a switchboard oper-ator and eventually retired after 36 years of near perfect attendance from the business office of the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Co. She was a member of the Pioneers of America and served as a union job steward representing the intereests of her co-workers.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughters, Becky Danello of Caroline County and Pat Hillman of Stafford County, and their husbands, John Danello and Paul Hillman.
She also is survived by her grandsons, Matthew Davis of Fredericksburg and Dr. Jason Hillman of New London, Conn.; her sister and brother, Nancy S. Atkins and Stuart C. Sullivan Jr., both of Fredericksburg; and several nieces, nephews and cou-sins.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, at Found & Sons Funeral Chapels and Cremation Service, corner of Courthouse Road and Southpoint Parkway. A graveside service will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery on Friday, Feb. 9, at 2 p.m. A reception will follow immediately afterward at the home of her daughter Pat Hillman, 531 Galveston Road, Clear-view Heights, Stafford.
Memorial contributions honoring Mrs. Davis' brave fight against cancer may be made to the Fredericksburg Rescue Squad or the American Cancer Society.
