Col. Philip A. Cox, M.D.'s Obituary
Ret. Col. Philip A. Cox, M.D., 90, of Stafford County passed away Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Culpeper Hospital.
Born to the late Archelaus and Mary Cox, Philip retired from the United States Air Force in1976 after 30 years of service as a flight surgeon. After retiring, Mr. Cox opened his own private practice in Temple Hills, Maryland until his retirement in 1987.
Philip is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alice H. Cox; one son, Philip A. Cox, Jr. of Temple Hills, MD; three grandchildren, Patricia, Stephanie, and Michael; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 pm on Thursday, October 9 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels~Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, where a funeral service will be conducted at noon. Interment will be at 2:00 pm at Quantico National Cemetery with military honors.
