Clyde Dexter Shipp's Obituary
Clyde Dexter Shipp, 81, of Spotsylvania County passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at his home.
Clyde grew up in Midland, VA. He served five years in the Navy during the Cuban Missel Crisis as a Gunner’s Mate on the U.S.S. Canberra. Clyde enjoyed being a manager for many retail stores. He loved to tell jokes and stories, taking cruises with his wife Janet, playing cards, and listening to country music, especially George Jones. Clyde loved his many pets and adored his family.
Clyde is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janet; three sons, John and his wife, Juli, Jim, and Dan Shipp; two grandchildren, Delaney and Hayden Miller; brother, Fred Shipp; and many other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Shipp and Virginia Moore; and two brothers, Robert and Homer Shipp.
Clyde’s family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2022 in the funeral home chapel.
