Claudia J. McIntyre's Obituary
Claudia J. McIntyre, 86, of Reva, Virginia, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born January 7, 1939 to the late William M. Rector and Juliet C. Rector. She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael “Mike” Burdette.
She worked at Cintas and as a waitress for many years before she met her husband, Jerry McIntyre, at a dance at the old Salem School. After they were married in 1982, she was able to stay home and be a homemaker. She enjoyed music, dancing, family, and close friends.
Claudia is survived by her husband, Jerry; her brother, William R. Rector; her sister, Jackie Ward; her daughter, Terry Clark and her husband, Jim; her grandson, Josh; her son, “J.R.” Burdette and his wife, Jane; her grandson, Brandon Burdette and his wife, Stephanie; her great grandchildren, Clare and Maggie; her son, Jeffrey “Jeff” Burdette and his wife, Bonnie; her granddaughter, Mikayla Golding and her husband, Reid; her late son, Michael “Mike” Burdette’s wife, Diane, her granddaughter, Melissa Burdette; and great grandchildren, Michael and Elise Cunningham.
Additional survivors include her step children, Jerry Wayne McIntyre and his wife, Joni, Mary Godfrey, Teri McIntyre, Tommy McIntyre and his wife, Staci, and Tisha McIntyre; 12 step grandchildren; 18 step great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Culpeper National Cemetery, 501 E. Chandler Street, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral procession will begin at 1:45 p.m. starting at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA to the cemetery.
